Psalmus 83.  I.
(4A*)
Psalm 83.
83:1. Quam dilécta tabernácula tua, Dómine virtum : * concupíscit, et déficit ánima mea in átria mini. 1. How lovely are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! * my soul longeth and fainteth for the courts of the Lord.
83:2. Cor meum, et caro mea * exsultavérunt in Deum vivum. 2. My heart and my flesh * have rejoiced in the living God.
83:3. Étenim passer invénit sibi domum : * et turtur nidum sibi, ubi ponat pullos suos. 3. For the sparrow hath found herself a house, * and the turtledove a nest for herself where she may lay her young ones:
83:4. Altária tua, Dómine virtum : * Rex meus, et Deus meus. 4. Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, * my king and my God.
83:5. Beáti, qui hábitant in domo tua, mine : * in sǽcula sæculórum laubunt te. 5. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: * they shall praise thee for ever and ever.
83:6. Beátus vir, cujus est auxílium abs te :
ascensiónes in corde suo dispósuit, in valle lacrirum * in loco, quem suit.
6. Blessed is the man whose help is from thee: * in his heart he hath disposed to ascend by steps, in the vale of tears, in the place which he hath set.
83:7. Étenim benedictiónem dabit legislátor,
ibunt de virtúte in virtem : * vidébitur Deus deórum in Sion.
7. For the lawgiver shall give a blessing, they shall go from virtue to virtue: * the God of gods shall be seen in Sion.
V. Glória Patri, et lio, * et Spirítui Sancto. V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.
R. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen. R. As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalmus 83.  II.
(4A*)

83:10. Protéctor noster, áspice, Deus : * et réspice in fáciem Christi tui : 10. Behold, O God our protector: * and look on the face of thy Christ.
83:11. Quia mélior est dies una in átriis tuis, * super míllia. 11. For better is one day in thy courts * above thousands.
83:12. Elégi abjéctus esse in domo Dei mei : * magis quam habitáre in tabernáculis peccarum. 12. I have chosen to be an abject in the house of my God, * rather than to dwell in the tabernacles of sinners.
83:13. Quia misericórdiam, et veritátem díligit Deus : * grátiam et glóriam dabit minus. 13. For God loveth mercy and truth: * the Lord will give grace and glory.
83:13. Non privábit bonis eos, qui ámbulant in innocéntia : * Dómine virtútum, beátus homo, qui sperat in te. 13. He will not deprive of good things them that walk in innocence: * O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
Amen.
